Plasticizers are used to make brittle and hard PVC soft and supple. This means PVC can be used in a wide range of consumer goods such as cables, roofing membranes, flooring or films.
BASF has developed an innovative plasticizer for sensitive applications such as toys, medical products and food contact applications. It is used in bags and tubes for enteral nutrition administered via stomach tube and breathing systems.
Thanks to its special properties, the plasticizer releases very few molecules into its surrounding medium, in this way helping to improve safety for adult and young patients.
