As the world's leading chemical company, BASF stood out in overall rating because it is committed to the principle of sustainable development by promoting the combination of economic success with environmental protection and social responsibilities. The overriding principle is integrated into the company's Values and Principles, and is one of the four strategic pillars for BASF 2015. In China, BASF not only implements the principle in all its business activities, but proactively influences its partners, suppliers, customers, the community and the public towards that direction. The award has proven that the public has recognized our efforts.
Mr. Johnny Kwan, Chairman of BASF Greater China said during the ceremony held in Beijing, " The award means a lot to BASF, because this is the first such award we've ever got in China. Many thanks for the recognition coming from China's leading publication, academia and the public."

"The award belongs to the over 4,000 employees in BASF Greater China," said Mr. Kwan, "Without their persistence and dedication, we could not have achieved sustainable growth and fulfilled our commitment to economic success, environment and society. I'm confident that we can do an even better job being the leader in sustainable development!"
One key judging factor was that all applicants were requested not only to submit the corporate citizenship activities but also to state clear corporate theme and policy to support the cases submitted. BASF succeeded in covering four selected areas with comprehensive corporate policy and theme to explain "we do, because we care".
Other awardees included Ford, Siemens, Sony, BP, Microsoft, Coca Cola, and China Telecom etc.
