"Germany Esplanade" travels to Chongqing: BASF presents innovative sustainable solutions in China’s largest municipality

Chongqing, CHINA – May 09, 2008 – BASF – The Chemical Company – is Official Partner of the “Germany and China – Moving Ahead Together” initiative in Chongqing, southwest China. A BASF Pavilion focusing on sustainable urbanization will be open to the public at the Germany Esplanade in the city’s central square from May 9 to 17, 2008. In addition, BASF is sponsoring a forum at Chongqing University at which stakeholders are invited to share their ideas about a sustainable future for Chongqing.  Arrow

"Germany and China - Moving Ahead Together"

More than 50,000 people are estimated to have visited BASF's pavilion on the Germany Esplanade in Nanjing since it opened on October 19, 2007. The pavilion is the most visible of BASF activities as part of the "Germany and China - Moving Ahead Together" initiative and will visit a number of other large Chinese cities through 2010. Arrow

Keropur® taxi sponsorship in Nanjing

During the “Germany and China – Moving Ahead Together” initiative in Nanjing from October 19-27, 2007, BASF is sponsoring 50 Nanjing taxis owned by Zhongbei Taxi Company with its innovative and environmentally friendly Keropur® fuel additive. Mr Stephen Ko, Director of Performance Chemicals, BASF Asia Pacific, presents bottled Keropur to Hu Jinhuai, Assistant General Manager of Zhongbei Taxi. The event is a further example of BASF’s efforts to increase awareness for environmental protection in the communities in which it operates. Arrow

“Germany and China – Moving Ahead Together” in Nanjing: BASF presents innovative products and solutions for sustainable development

BASF, Official Partner of the “Germany and China – Moving Ahead Together” initiative, today announced its contributions to the first station in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province. The initiative will run from autumn 2007 to 2010 and will tour a number of major cities throughout China to promote technological and cultural aspects of Germany. BASF’s most visible activity will be a pavilion on the Germany Esplanade in Nanjing that will be open to the public from October 19 to 27, 2007. Other activities include a high-level corporate social responsibility (CSR) round table, the sponsorship of Nanjing taxis with BASF’s Keropur® fuel additive, and an expert symposium on city life and construction. Arrow
