BASF SE is supporting Passive-ON, a research and dissemination project funded within the Intelligent Energy for Europe SAVE programme, which aims to promote Passive Houses in warm climates.
The Passive-On project is co-ordinated by the end-use Efficiency Research Group at the Politecnico di Milano. The consortium includes private and public research institutes with proven experience in the themes of Passive Houses, Passive Cooling and the field of Policy Analysis.
Main objective of the projects are:
For architects and designers (particularly small studios) the project will provide Design Guidelines for developing cost effective, relatively low investment cost, all season Passive Houses in both heating load and cooling load climates
For the European Commission the project will provide a Scope and Strategy Report which aims to examine the potential and means for achieving more wide scale adoption of Passive Houses
Finally the project aims to generally disseminate the concept of the Passive House in countries partner to the project amongst the target audiences (architects, designers and local government). The project foresees in each partner country a Technical Workshop for architects and designers and Final Workshops for all target groups.
